Equipment

The regular blog posts on the main page were all taken by me using my own equipment, unless noted otherwise.  I have borrowed telescopes in the past, and any images taken from borrowed equipment has been noted in the post.

My current list of equipment include:

Telescopes:
Celestron C6N  6" f/5 Newtonian 700mm focal length

Orion 8", f/5 Newtonian, 1000mm focal length

Astro-Tech AT72ED 72mm aperture with reducer / field flattener, 340mm focal length.

Tripods and mounts:

Celestron Advanced GT  Old model now replaced by the Advanced VX

Celestron CGEM  Old model, replaced by the CGEM II

Cameras:
Canon T3
Canon 70D
Orion G3 Monochrome
Celestron NexImage 5

Filters:
I occasionally use various filters.  Among them are

Astronomik CLS clip in filter.  this light pollution filter clips into the Canon camera body that blocks light pollution quite well.

Zhumell 2" lp filter.  Very low cost, but does a nice job under modest light pollution  I use this on the Astro-Tech refractor.

No-name 2" wideband Hα filter.  Basically just a red filter.  Does a reasonable job imaging deep in the Hα, but not as detailed as a true Hα filter.

I do have a set of Narrowband filters - Hα, Oiii and Sii, all 1.25 inch which I use on the Orion G3

Software:

Planetary/ Lunar:

IC Capture:  Capture software for the NexImage 5.
AutoStakkert:  Stacking software.
Registax 6:  Stacking Software which includes various processing functions.  I usually use this for processing only.

Deep Sky:

DeepSky Stacker:  Stacks individual raw formatted images taken with the Canon cameras.  Also does dark, flat and bias frame calibration of images.

Photoshop CC:  post processing of all generated images..
